Our retreat, “Be Like Water”, honors the Year of the Yin Water Rabbit that hops into our lives on February 4, 2023.

The Rabbit shares the Wood element with the Tiger and Dragon.  Wood is upward moving chi, connected with the spring season. The Water Rabbit arrives right in the middle of spring when trees and plants start flourishing. Yin Wood has to do with smaller plants and trees, branches, bushes, flowers, grass, and vines.

In 2023, Yin Water sits on top of the Rabbit’s Yin Wood. This is moving water - rain, waterfalls, dew, flowing rivers and streams. It is female and connected to the water deep inside the land. And if you are familiar with the 5 Element theory, you are aware that Water is the mother of Wood and that it is essential for growth. As the 10th of 10 Heavenly Stems in Chinese astrology, located between death and birth, it is connected to reincarnation and strong memories.

“Be Like Water” is the perfect opportunity to be inspired by these elemental forces.
